"Frank Zappa/Mothers soundalikes
the Muffin Men are something of a halfway house in the authenticity
stakes, given that they've shared many gigs with genuine ex-Mother
Of Invention Jimmy Carl Black. They can pull crowds of 800-plus
in Germany, though 200 is more their level in the UK. At least
they can say they're the only UK-based tribute of their kind."

And a review of the Canterbury
Fayre concert:
"The Muffin Men specialised in Frank Zappa covers. I was
contemplating a way to describe them when the bloke next door
beat me to it: 'Indulgent shite'." |
